The Luminous Way: Encouraging continuous growth and positivity in every dancer.

One of the most beautiful gifts in life is that we were all born to be unique & different. Different body types, interests, strengths, ideas, passions, etc. I’m not sure about you, but I am so thankful that there is no one else exactly like me. However, despite our differences, there are two key things that we can all do on our journey to becoming the best version of ourselves.

Embrace Growth Everyday.

Sometimes, it’s easiest to take the path of least resistance. It’s easier to stay in your comfort zone and avoid trying things that are new, scary or challenging. But what an incredible feeling it is to finally step beyond the walls of your own comfort and experience growth. Sometimes it hurts. It’s often uncomfortable. You better believe it takes courage. But I promise you this - it’s always worth it.

At LDF, we love celebrating our students’ accomplishments. Whether at school, at home, in sports, hobbies, or in the studio each week.

From celebrating the little things in class, like gaining the confidence to take their focus off of the floor —> to happy-crying about the big things on stage.. like nailing the hard turn combination, killin’ the facials & beaming with confidence. What matters to us is how each student feels as  they leave class. If they feel a sense of accomplishment, if they leave the studio feeling like they’ve gained the knowledge, confidence or skill set to achieve something new, then we’ve done our job.

Always Project Positivity.

This one is easy. Well, it should be easy if you truly love dance. :)

Leave those bad thoughts and negative self talk at the door please!

At LDF, negative vibes are simply not welcome. Be happy & spread that happiness by staying positive even when you’ve had a bad day or a bad moment. The dance studio should be the place that you feel comfortable enough to express your emotions through your movement.

Dance, like any sport, can be frustrating. We all fall short of our own expectations at times, but this is what GROWTH is all about. Every time you put forth your best effort, you grow. Use that growth & positivity to look forward to the next time you’re able to get into the studio and work towards achieving your goals.

Lessons for the studio, stage & life.

Obviously, encouraging growth & being positive is important to me. A goal of mine for 2019 is to incorporate these words & their meanings into my everyday life even more than I already do. I believe that the earlier I introduce the idea of ‘positive growth’ to our dancers at the studio, the easier it will be for them to put it into action. Embracing growth & projecting positivity will push us further in life than we ever thought possible.

Projecting positivity into the studio, into my amazing instructors & into each student that I have the privilege to work with, is one of my main goals every day. I work really hard to embrace growth in everything that I do & I wish to exude that quality into my students, as well.

My bottom line? Well, from all of this rambling it’s this: To provide new, innovative ideas & tools that will assist each student in being successful, not only in dance, but in life. My number one priority is, and will always be, my amazing dance students.

Thank you to everyone in this wonderful community for helping us grow into the beautiful studio that we are today. We couldn’t do this without you.
